Announcing: The Backyard BBQ

One of three facets of our Radio Summer Camp music festival (club shows and symposium being the other two), The Backyard BBQ – presented with help from the Pabst Theater – will be held on Sunday, July 18th. The Backyard BBQ is an all-day, outdoor, FREE concert featuring country, bluegrass, blues and roots-leaning music. Think straw hats, lemonade, great BBQ and some of the finest bands around. The music starts at 11:00am and goes to sundown.

There will be two more acts announced soon for the BBQ, but today we announce:

As you can see, we’re mixing the “countrypolitan” of national act Southern Culture on the Skids with the “streetgrass” of local favorites .357 String Band. Add the Carolina Chocolate Drops nod to historical African-American sounds, the swampy New Orleans blues of Eric Lindell, the bar-room country of Jonathan Burks and the energetic blues-rock of The Ragadors, and what we have here is a distinctly American event.

Big question, are coolers, food allowed in? In today’s world if you can save a few bucks all the better.

Whatever the case, WMSE is the bomb for bringing this FREE show to Mil Town.

  15. Here’s another question… Are well behaved, leashed dogs allowed? My dog Bob loves the SCOTS.

    Thanx again, WMSE.

    Am I right?
