Announcing: Radio Summer Camp 2010

A lot has been happening on the back-end around here, but we’re finally ready to start announcing Radio Summer Camp (RSC) 2010 – our four-day music festival and educational musician’s symposium happening this year from July 15th – July 18th.

We’ll have a lot more information, including all of the over 10 participating venues and what bands/musicians will fill out the line-up, in the coming weeks. Next week we’re unveiling the line-up for our Backyard BBQ – our all-day, free outdoor concert held at Cathedral Square Park on Sunday, July 18th. We think you will like the line-up as it combines (as does the entire festival) a great collection of some of Milwaukee’s best with prominent national acts.

As you should expect from us given our free form, eclectic program schedule, you’ll notice a lot more genre’s represented at this year’s RSC. But for now, let’s just get to the two big shows announcing today and tell you how to get a four-day pass!

Thursday, July 15th: Turner Hall Ballroom – The Official RSC Kick-Off Show w/ Liars, 8pm

“Retaining a consistent interest in rhythm and sound texture”, Liars jumps from sound to sound with a “fevered mash of disparate genres, perfect source material for ruthless remixing.”

In putting together this festival, we wanted to make sure there were some good, all-ages options, and this one hits the nail on the kick-off show head.

Saturday: Turner Hall Ballroom – Neon Indian, 8pm

Under the moniker Neon Indian, bedroom electro-pop/chillwave artist Alan Palomo gained considerable acclaim within the independent music community in just a short period of time. However, as Internet-hyped bands also run the risk of overexposure and being shoved aside for the latest craze, Neon Indian’s ethereal, psychedelic sound has solidified the act as no flash-in-the-pan, but rather the real deal.

Tickets:
Four-day passes are available now are normally $25, but from now until May 1st, they are available at an early-bird rate of only $20 (cheaper than combined cost of Liars + Neon Indian alone). Just enter the code RSCEarly when asked for the code during the ticket buying process.

A four-day pass gains you entry into every single show at ever one of the over 10 venues participating in Radio Summer Camp from Thursday through Sunday.

The four-day pass is obviously the best band for your buck, but individual tickets are also available to both shows.
